Summer

Namekagon River Canoe Trips- The Namekagon River is a narrow, twisting river that is perfect for navigating by canoe or kayak. We offer canoe or kayak trips complete with shuttle and equipment to and from a variety of landings. (Call for pricing and availability)

Namekagon River Tubing Trips- We offer tube rentals and transportation for trip that vary in length from 1.5 hours to all day floats. “Cooler tubes” can be rented as well to take your snacks or beverages along with you on your leisurely trip. (Call for pricing and availability.)

Mountain Biking- Heartwood has a fleet of 10 front suspension mountain bikes available for rent. Frame sizes range from 13” to 21”. (Call for pricing and availability.) Take our bikes for a cruise on our trails or explore the surrounding roads or bring along your own.

Basketball- Heartwood has 6 outdoor basketball hoops for you to work on your game. HORSE anyone?

Tennis- Heartwood has two tennis courts located across from the main conference center. Ask at the front desk to use our rackets and tennis balls.

Horseshoes- Heartwood has two horseshoe pits located behind the basketball courts.

Sand Volleyball- Two courts await your team challenge. Soft sand makes the landings more tolerable, so go ahead and throw yourself at that ball like the pros do.

Boating- Heartwood offers canoes and rowboats for use on Hoinville Lake on first come first served basis. Paddles and PFD’s are available.

Fishing – Hoinville Lake contains Bass, Northern Pike, Crappie, Sunnies and Bluegill. Fishing Equipment and supplies are available. A Wisconsin fishing license is required. Heartwood encourages catch and release fishing.

Hiking- Heartwood offers 25k of trails to hike on. Take a trip on our “red chair” loop or wander along the ridge overlooking the Namekagon.

Hay rides- Our hay wagon can hold 20 people. Try combining a hay ride with a lunch on the trails. (Call for pricing and availability.)

Swimming beach- Our beach area has a roped off area for the kids and a diving platform/float in the deeper water. We also keep a limited supply of inner tubes at the beach. Cool off on a hot summer day.

Winter

Snow tubing/sliding- Heartwood has a sliding hill located near the soccer field. Bring your own sled or tube or ask at the front desk to use one of our snow tubes.

Broomball- Our court has sticks for a dozen players. Play during the day or under the lights at night.

Ice Skating- The skating rink is lit for night skating. Bring your own skates as Heartwood does not have rentals available.

Cross Country Skiing- With 25k of trails available, you are sure to find a trail to your liking. Heartwood also offers rentals. (Call for pricing and availability.)

Snowshoeing- Heartwood has rentals available for up to 16 adults and 4 children. (Call for pricing and availability.) Try our snow specific trails or just take off through the woods on an adventure.

Ice Fishing- Hoinville Lake contains Bass, Northern Pike, Crappie, Sunnies and Bluegill. Fishing Equipment and supplies are available. A Wisconsin fishing license is required. Heartwood encourages catch and release fishing. Heartwood can drill your holes if you need as well.

All Year Round

Hot tubs- Heartwood has 2 ten person hot tubs for our hotel guests to enjoy.

Exercise room- Our hotel guests enjoy access to our exercise room which is located in the lower level of the Golden Eagle hotel wing and includes a treadmill, elliptical machine and an exercise bicycle.

Ping-pong- Heartwood has two tables to play on…one in the Chalet and one in the main conference center. Practice enough and you can play like Forrest Gump.

Billiards- Heartwood has a billiards table located adjacent to the lounge in the lower level of the main conference center.
